Collection of General Information When Visiting the Website

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected by means of a cookie. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, and similar data. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person.

This information is technically necessary to correctly deliver the website content requested by you and is mandatory when using the internet. It is processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring a trouble-free connection to the website,

  • Ensuring smooth use of our website,

  • Evaluating system security and stability, and

  • For further administrative purposes.

The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest arising from the aforementioned purposes for data collection. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person. Recipients of the data are only the controller and, if applicable, processors. Anonymous information of this kind may be statistically evaluated by us to optimize our website and the underlying technology.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we use so-called “cookies.” Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system, and your connection to the internet.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can facilitate navigation and ensure the correct display of our web pages.

Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.

Of course, you can generally view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functions of your internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

SSL Encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g., SSL) via HTTPS.

Comment Function

When users leave comments on our website, the time of their creation and the username previously selected by the website visitor are stored in addition to this information. This serves our security, as we can be held liable for illegal content on our website, even if it was created by users.

Newsletter

Based on your express consent, we will regularly send you our newsletter or comparable information by email to your specified email address.

Providing your email address is sufficient for receiving the newsletter. When registering for our newsletter, the data provided by you will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be informed by email about circumstances relevant to the service or registration (for example, changes to the newsletter offer or technical conditions).

For an effective registration, we require a valid email address. We use the “double opt-in” procedure to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an email address. For this purpose, we log the order of the newsletter, the dispatch of a confirmation email, and the receipt of the requested response. No further data is collected. The data will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties.

You can withdraw your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for the newsletter dispatch at any time. You will find a corresponding link in each newsletter. You can also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or inform us of your wish via the contact option provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

Contact Form

If you contact us with questions of any kind by email or contact form, you give us your voluntary consent for the purpose of contacting you. This requires providing a valid email address. This serves to assign the inquiry and the subsequent response to it. Providing further data is optional. The information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for possible follow-up questions. Personal data is automatically deleted after your inquiry has been settled.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses “cookies,” i.e., text files stored on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Due to the activation of IP anonymization on these websites, however, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other data held by Google.

The purposes of data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities on the website. Further related services are then to be provided based on the use of the website and the internet. The processing is based on the legitimate interest of the website operator.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can stop tracking by Google Analytics on our pages by clicking this link. An opt-out cookie will be installed on your device. This will prevent collection by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser in the future as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

Use of Script Libraries (Google Web Fonts)

In order to display our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (Google Web Fonts) on this website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, content will be displayed in a standard font.

Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the operator of the library. It is theoretically possible – although it is currently unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes – that operators of such libraries collect data.

Google’s privacy policy can be found here: Google Privacy Policy.

Use of Adobe Typekit

We use Adobe Typekit for the visual design of our website. Typekit is a service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Ltd. that grants us access to a font library. To integrate the fonts we use, your browser must establish a connection to an Adobe server in the USA and download the font required for our website. Adobe thereby receives the information that our website was accessed from your IP address. Further information about Adobe Typekit can be found in Adobe’s privacy policy, which you can access here: Adobe Typekit Privacy.

Use of Google Maps

This website uses the Google Maps API to visually display geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes, and uses data about the use of map functions by visitors. You can find more detailed information about data processing by Google in the Google Privacy Policy. There you can also change your personal privacy settings in the Safety Center.

Detailed instructions for managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.

Embedded YouTube Videos

On some of our web pages, we embed YouTube videos. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.

Those who have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program will not have to expect such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.

Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s privacy policy at: Google Privacy Policy.

Social Plugins

We offer you the possibility to use so-called “social media buttons” on our website. To protect your data, we use the “Shariff” solution for implementation. This means that these buttons are only integrated on the website as a graphic that contains a link to the corresponding website of the button provider. By clicking the graphic, you are redirected to the services of the respective providers. Only then is your data sent to the respective providers. If you do not click the graphic, no exchange takes place between you and the providers of the social media buttons. Information about the collection and use of your data in the social networks can be found in the respective terms of use of the corresponding providers. More information about the Shariff solution can be found here: Heise Shariff.

We have integrated the social media buttons of the following companies on our website:

  • Facebook

  • Xing

Nature and purpose of processing: Social plugins from the providers listed below are used on our websites. You can recognize the plugins by the fact that they are marked with the corresponding logo.

Under certain circumstances, information, which may also include personal data, is sent to the service operator via these plugins and may be used by the latter. We prevent the unconscious and unintentional collection and transmission of data to the service provider through a 2-click solution. To activate a desired social plugin, it must first be activated by clicking the corresponding switch. Only through this activation of the plugin is the collection of information and its transmission to the service provider triggered. We do not collect any personal data ourselves by means of the social plugins or their use.

We have no influence on what data an activated plugin collects and how it is used by the provider. At present, it must be assumed that a direct connection to the provider’s services is established and that at least the IP address and device-related information are collected and used. It is also possible that the service providers attempt to store cookies on the computer used. Please refer to the privacy policy of the respective service provider to see what specific data is collected and how it is used. Note: If you are logged into Facebook at the same time, Facebook can identify you as a visitor to a specific page.

Google AdWords

Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you have reached our website via an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords will set a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an advertisement placed by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that personally identifies users.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can refuse the setting of a cookie required for this – for example, via a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies or by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleleadservices.com.”

Please note that you must not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in the browser, you must set the respective opt-out cookie again.

Changes to Our Data Protection Provisions

We reserve the right to adjust this Privacy Policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the Privacy Policy, e.g., when introducing new services. The new Privacy Policy will then apply to your next visit.

The Privacy Policy was created with the privacy policy generator of activeMind AG.
